BBSCopy v0.20 - RemoteAccess FileBase Copier - 1992 (c) Ksoft Development.
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
INTRODUCTION
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
It's been a long time now that i'm looking for an idea for a new
program and a few days ago i talked with a friend who gave me the idea
of a program which will make life easier for RemoteAccess SysOps. The
idea was simple; Let the sysop copy files from it's BBS file base in
the easiest way. That's when BBSCopy was born.
The idea behind BBSCopy is very simple. Instead of forcing the sysop to
look in all it's file areas for a specific file, BBSCopy searches it
for him.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
BBSCopy requires DOS version 2.1 or higher, about 50KB of free memory,
PC/XT/286/386/486 or any other DOS compatible machine and ofcourse,
RemoteAccess BBS with the environment variable RA= set correctly. It is
also recommended that SHARE.EXE will be loaded if running under
DesqView.
AUTHENTIC VERIFICATION
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
To check if your copy of BBSCopy utility is intact, please use McAfee's
VALIDATE utility to check BBSCopy.
The VALIDATE program should output the following:
File Name: BBSCOPY.EXE
Size: 10,311
Date: 1-3-1992
File Authentication:
Check Method 1 - 6E3E
Check Method 2 - 0F3F
If the output of your BBSCopy defers, please do not use this copy and
inform the author about it as soon as possible.
USAGE
▀▀▀▀▀
BBSCopy requires some command line parameters to operate. The command
line usage for BBSCopy is as follows:
BBSCOPY filemast.ext [destination] [/options]
The 'filemask.ext' parameter specify the file, or files, to be copied
from the BBS file base. This parameter may contain any DOS wildcards.
'destination' is a DOS directory to copy the files to.
'/options' select to operation mode of BBSCopy. The following options
are available:
/P - BBSCopy will pause in each file, displaying it's name and prompt
if to Copy, not copy or quit the program.
/A - BBSCopy will list file areas names with each file.
/S - Simulate only. BBSCopy will not copy any file.
HINT: Typing 'BBSCOPY *.* /S' will actually count all the files on the
BBS and will also display their total size.
During the copy process, BBSCopy may be paused by pressing the 'SPACE'
key, or aborted by pressing the 'ESC' key. In both cases the copy
operation of the current file will be completed before pausing or
aborting.
BBSCopy will also copy files that are not listed in the FILES.BBS.
Actually, BBSCopy does not use the FILES.BBS in it's operation.
FEATURES
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

FUTURE
▀▀▀▀▀▀
Here are some future features i'm thinking of getting into BBSCopy. I'm
not sure i'll install all of them, but however ...
■ Copy files by keywords from their description in FILES.BBS.
Ofcourse extended descriptions will be supported.
■ Option to get into a full screen list of all matching files.
■ Option to switch diskettes when full (or even fill diskettes to full
capacity).
■ Hmmmm... That's about it. If you have any idea that might fit into
this utility, please let me know about it...
